Fact Sheet: President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump Advance Women’s Health to Improve Outcomes in All Phases of Life
PRIORITIZING SOLUTIONS FOR WOMEN’S HEALTH: Today, President Donald J. signed an Executive Order, led by First Lady Melania Trump, to strengthen research, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care for women and girls throughout every stage of life.
- The Order establishes the White House Women’s Health Task Force to ensure the Federal Government pursues a comprehensive approach to women’s health that recognizes evolving health needs from infancy, childhood, and adolescence through pregnancy, midlife, menopause, and aging, and supports necessary policy and regulatory reforms to ensure timely and stage-specific prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care for women.
- The Order directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Director of the National Institutes of Health to establish a Women’s Health Division within the National Institutes of Health to strengthen the Federal Government’s ability to coordinate research, address gaps in scientific understanding, and accelerate the translation of discoveries into better health outcomes.
- The Order rescinds the initiatives of the prior Administration in order to broaden beyond research and prioritize translating research into improved clinical care that benefits women and girls.
ENSURING AMERICAN WOMEN RECEIVE THE BEST SCIENTIFICALLY-SUPPORTED MEDICAL ADVICE IN THE WORLD: President Trump is prioritizing the health and longevity of America’s women and girls and putting research into action. American women deserve answers, and this Administration is committed to improving women’s health outcomes.
- While previous administrations have invested in women’s health research, the Trump Administration is enhancing, streamlining, and elevating Federal efforts regarding both research and its translation into health solutions.
- Despite considerable advances in biomedical science, many diseases and conditions that disproportionately or uniquely affect women have not received the level of research, clinical attention, and treatment that other diseases and conditions have received.
- More research is needed in critical aspects of women’s health, including cardiovascular and heart disease, cancer, stroke, Alzheimer’s Disease, autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, osteoporosis, mental health, chronic pain, endometriosis, fibroids, polyendocrine metabolic ovary syndrome (PMOS), infertility, maternal health, menopause, neurological disorders, aging, and more.
- Improving health outcomes for women requires coordinated Federal leadership, bolstered scientific investment, and accelerated translation of research into clinical and community practice.
DELIVERING ON PROMISES FOR AMERICAN WOMEN: President Trump and his Administration are advancing women’s health to improve health outcomes in all phases of life and ensuring they can access more affordable healthcare by lowering costs and taking on special interest that raise Americans’ healthcare costs.
- In less than two years, President Trump has begun reshaping how America eats, moves, farms, and thinks about health to address the root causes of America’s escalating health crisis. Earlier this year, the Administration launched the new Dietary Guidelines for Americans with sections for pregnant and lactating women, marking the most significant reset of federal nutrition policy in decades.
- In his historic Working Families Tax Cuts Act, President Trump expanded access to health savings accounts for up to ten million people on Obamacare, took the most significant actions to reduce healthcare fraud and abuse in history, and deployed a record $50 billion investment to improve rural healthcare.
- 46 states have made investments in maternal health, including specific investments in telehealth and remote patient monitoring for maternal care, obstetric workforce development, and postpartum care.
- In November 2025, the Food and Drug Administration initiated the removal of broad and misleading “black box” warnings on Hormone Replacement Therapy products for menopause.
- The Trump Administration has reached 26 deals with pharmaceutical manufacturers, covering nearly 90% of the branded drug market, to get Americans the same low prices for prescription drugs that people in other countries pay. The Council of Economic Advisers estimates President Trump’s MFN deals will save Americans $600 billion prescription drugs over the next decade.
- In February 2026, President Trump launched TrumpRx.gov, where patients can access large discounts in line with the MFN price on many of the most popular and highest-priced medicines in the country. Since its launch, patients have saved over $700 million on medicines through TrumpRx.gov.
- TrumpRx.gov is delivering massive savings on some of the most commonly used fertility medications in the country to help families grow. Many patients struggling with infertility pay for their medicines out-of-pocket, but now they can save more than $2,000 per cycle of fertility drugs, on average.
- In May 2026, President Trump launched Moms.gov to support new and expecting mothers, bringing together information intended to help families navigate pregnancy and early parenthood.
